PJDIY: Beachy Chic Shell Mirror

Y'all one of my co-stars in my recent How To Get Beachy Chic video, was this dramatic shell encrusted mirror:

Yasssssss!

Yasssssss!

Tots sweet, right?! And I'm about to styleslap y'all with a super EASY PJDIY on how-to make this 'licious, but first, let's all watch the video that inspired this baby to begin with:

Ahhhh, just LURV that video! What an amazing day! Now let's get our shell mirror on! Here's what y'all need:

1. Mirror of choice.I scooped up this curvy, frameless mirror from Target, avail here. But y'all can use whatever mirror you want, that's another great thing about this project. You can even use a mirror w/ a frame-- just keep in mind that the frame should be of a surface quality that the shells can safely adhere to...so, wicker or rattan, may not be the best choice.

2. Seashells. If y'all are like me, almost every single trip I take to a beach I'm hunting & gathering shells, so I've got quite the stockpile. BUT, if your beach excursions haven't yielded up that much shell-tastic bounty, don't fret! Grab a bag or two (or three, or MORE, lol, depending upon mirror size) at Michaels, like these.

3. Glue gun and glue sticks. I know most of y'all have your glue guns & sticks BLAZIN', so round 'em up, but for those who don't, y'all can score those at Michaels as well, here & here.

*Now, lay out your materials. Plug in those glue guns!

*Next, arrange your seashells along the outside edge of your mirror, in ANY configuration you like. There's no right or wrong way to lay your seashells out here, y'all. I do recommend placing the flattest part of each individual shell, mirror-side down-- for best adhesion.

*Once you've placed your shells all along the entire outside edge of your mirror, in the configuration you like, it's time to start gluing them in place. Note: I opted to anchor the top & bottom and middle of both sides of my mirror with my most DRAMA shells in my collection for extra impact.

*Starting from one end, or corner, glue each individual shell in place, working your way around the entire mirror.

*Be sure to thoroughly coat the underside of each of your seashells, on the flattest part available, for maximum adhesion to your mirror.

*Let dry. Hang mirror & ENJOY

How fun and even better, EASY, was that?! Woot Woot!
