PJ DIY Luggage Rack

I don't know abt y'all but I love me a luggage rack- Yassss! There's nothing better for that, 'I'm away for the w/e, oh look at this awesome guest room & CANDLES! & omg here's this super sweet luggage rack for my bag/suitcase it's like a chic boutique artisanal hotel in here, SOAP BASKET?, I love my hosts & ultimately my life'!!! Am I right y'all?

Problem is: chic luggage racks are kinda a rarity these days and then when you do find 'em they can be oddly pricey, considering what they are, which is why anytime I spy them at flea markets, garage/yard sales & thrift stores, I scoop 'em up. Such was the case with this babygurl:

She's a little long in the tooth, but at $10, I'm not mad at her!

Fret not folks, she's about to live her best life with a new RED paint job:

Then I went all next level w/some new grosgrain ribbon in this festive navy stripe & brass upholstery nails-- 'cause a red navy stripe + brass combo is as good as chocolate falling inexplicably into peanut butter-- y'all don't question the SHIOT, just indulge, BETCH!

Yummy...

Yummy...

Oh- obvs before painting I had removed the original upholstery tacks & white ribbon straps. Duh. Then I just used the length of the old white straps to determine the lengths of my new striped straps & cut. I folded abt 1/4" on each end of the new striped straps and ironed the folds. And wherever there were nail holes where the old straps had been nailed in, is right where I placed the new straps. Make sense? Next, I carefully nailed the brass upholstery tacks through the fold of the striped strap, onto the rack, but honestly, y'all it was more like pushing the nails in b/c the holes were pre-existing. Lookee:

And

Feast!

Then YASSSSS!
